Terry Bassingthwaite has been involved in the motor industry since leaving school at 16 when he qualified first as a mechanic, before moving into sales. For the past 20 years he has been a fully qualified HGV driver working throughout Europe. In 2005 he founded Fun on Wheels UK Quad Bike & Buggy safaris in the Bury St Edmunds area. At the same time, an invitation to become an Instructor for the European ATV Safety Institute (EASI) led to the self-discovery of a passion for teaching and a desire to pass on solid knowledge and driving skills to the next generation of drivers. He is qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor and, having had many years of driving LGV Class 1 vehicles and towing trailers, has the experience to teach class B + E trailer towing.
Lessons offered are relaxed, friendly & informative, with a focus on driving skills for life - not just to pass your driving test. Each student will be coached on their individual needs, at their own pace and under no pressure.
Terry Bassingthwaite is a qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) of the Driving Standards Agency and a member of the Driving Instructors Association (DIA). He is also ROSPA 'Gold Grade' Advanced Driver accredited. He regularly attends Continual Professional Development opportunities to maintain up to date knowledge and his high standards of coaching skills. Flexible lesson times are offered from one hour minimum, depending on each student's individual needs, and Pass Plus training is also offered for after you have passed your test.
